Petersburg Visitor Information Center
The Visitor Information Center is filled with brochures, maps, videos, posters, books, and a friendly staff, all in an effort to help you find the information you need to enjoy your visit to Petersburg. Locals also enjoy stopping by the VIC to assemble their own visitor packets with which to entice their friends and family to visit Alaska's Little Norway. The Forest Service conducts nature walks and other interpretive programs to share information on the local flora and fauna. National Forest cabin reservations are available at the Center. A small selection of sales items includes Chamber of Commerce products, and an Alaska Natural History Association book store. A special display area offers brochures from other Alaska and Yukon communities, as a service to those travelers "just passing through".
