Hunting

With the proper permits and in the correct seasons, hunting opportunities are available in many of our public lands. Small game, large game and bird hunting is possible. You can combine hunting with camping or boating for an enjoyable time in the outdoors. Hunting should be responsible and adhere to the safest practices possible. Federal law allows for hunting in Title 36 by stating, "Hunting may be allowed in park areas where such activity is specifically authorized as a discretionary activity under Federal statutory law if the superintendent determines that such activity is consistent with public safety and enjoyment, and sound resource management principles. ".
