Pop one and slip it inside your Wet Suit and will help to warm the water as it enters your suit. I take one, activate and just place it behind my back sitting in my recliner.... It really helps me relax. Perfect friends and family who tend to be cold in the winter months. These heat packs are approximately 5 inches wide by about 10 inches long. Great to take along with you when you go camping. They warm up your sleeping bag nicely. Here's a pointer: If you activate them when they're cold, they don't get that hot. If they're warm when you trigger them, they stay hotter longer. This isn't just for the ones we sell, it's for everybody's, but they're not gonna tell you. These do not stay hot for hours, But in general use they give off their heat for quite a while. For the most dramatic visual effect, activate them cold and watch them solidify! To activate them click the metal disk. After they've turned solid, and given up all their heat, you can recharge them. To recharge them, simply place them in boiling water until the contents are completely liquid...about 3-5 minutes once the water's boiling. Most people advise against recharging them in the microwave. I've done it successfully, but I've also ruined several. You've got to be right on it to turn off the microwave when they're melted, or they'll burst. If you're gonna try nukin' 'em, I'd put 'em in a glass of water. This'll moderate the temperature a little and give you a second or two longer to shut it down....all that said, if you really want to keep 'em for a while, just boil 'em!!!When you activate them, they can get up to, but not over, about 138°F. That's pretty warm, I'm no doctor and I don't want to get sued, but I don't think it's hot enough to burn you. It's hot enough to be uncomfortable on bare skin, so I wouldn't put 'em anywhere that you don't have good feeling. Obviously, when you boil them they get to water boiling temperature (212°F) which can burn you. How long they stay warm depends on where they are. If you put them into the freezer after you activate them, well, they won't stay warm long. If you have them inside a Jacket, or under a blanket, or under you (Like in my recliner) , or wrapped in a towel under your bed covers, they can stay warm for a very long while! My wife (who's always got cold feet) is kinda fond of popping a couple of these, wrapping them in a dish towel, and sticking them under the covers at the base/foot/bottom of the bed - whatever you call that place where underwear get lost - anyway, it keeps her feet warm ALL NIGHT!The substance in them is Sodium Acetate Trihydrate....sounds scary, but it's not. You're gonna get a kick outa this....Sodium Acetate is what you get when you mix vinegar and baking soda...no kiddin'! Anyway, it's safer than table salt! It's actually used in some foods, like Salt 'n Vinegar chips. In food it's sometimes called sodium diacetate. Anyway, if you're curious, look it up on wikipedia.MUST READ:Terms and Conditions:Insurance: included in the shippingI'll ship USPS Priority Mail (2 to 3 Day delivery.
